Preparing Students for the World of Work: Highlights from Our Deep Dive Wednesday

Bridging the Gap Between Education and Employment

In our recent Deep Dive Wednesday session, we explored how educators can prepare learners for the world of work, not as an add-on but as part of everyday teaching.
Employability is central to what we do as educators, and this session showed how TeacherMatic helps schools and colleges make it visible, practical and achievable for every learner.

Whether you work in a school, college or careers team, this Deep Dive demonstrated how eight TeacherMatic generators can transform employability delivery by aligning with Ofsted’s Personal Development framework and the Gatsby Benchmarks for good career guidance.

Why Employability Matters

Employability is more than a buzzword. It reflects how well we prepare young people for life beyond education.
Across the UK, employers continue to identify significant skills gaps. Research shows that:

  • Around 94% of employers report skills shortages

  • 69% prioritise soft skills such as teamwork, communication and reliability

  • About one in four vacancies is classed as a skills shortage role

These findings echo what teachers and careers advisers see daily. Learners often have the academic foundation but need more help with the four Cs of the 21st century: communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking, as well as resilience, adaptability and professionalism.

TeacherMatic provides the tools to embed these vital employability skills directly into teaching and tutorial practice.

Ofsted and Gatsby: The Frameworks that Shape Employability

Delivering employability is both good practice and a requirement.

Ofsted focuses on personal development within its inspection framework, asking how well schools and colleges prepare learners for life and work, build character and instil confidence.

The Gatsby Benchmarks provide a practical structure for doing this by linking curriculum learning to careers, exposing learners to labour market information and creating meaningful encounters with employers and guidance.

In short:

Ofsted gives us the why. Gatsby gives us the how. TeacherMatic gives us the tools.

The Challenges Educators Face

Many schools and colleges still find it difficult to embed employability in a consistent, measurable way. Staff often mention time pressures, limited resources and a lack of confidence in evidencing progress. Employers also note that some young people are not fully ready for the workplace, not because they lack ability but because there are limited opportunities to practise these essential skills.

Teachers in England now work an average of more than 52 hours per week, with around 20 hours spent on planning, feedback and administration. Careers and tutorial staff spend even longer creating mock interviews, rubrics, feedback and reports, all essential but time-consuming activities.

TeacherMatic helps by automating and streamlining these processes. It enables educators to meet Ofsted and Gatsby expectations while reducing workload, freeing time for real conversations, reflection and guidance.

TeacherMatic in Action: Eight Generators that Simplify Employability

During the session, we explored how a sequence of TeacherMatic generators can create a full employability journey using a Customer Service Assistant example.
Here’s how each one supports Gatsby, Ofsted and workload reduction.

1. Job Advert Generator

A job advert form for a Customer Service Assistant role is being filled out on the Teachermatic platform, displaying fields for job details, requirements, location, salary, and employer name.

Creates professional, realistic job adverts in seconds. Learners can analyse language, identify transferable skills and rewrite adverts for different audiences, building literacy and employability awareness.
Gatsby Benchmark 2: Labour Market Information
Time saved: 30–40 minutes per advert.

2. Job Description Generator

A job description form for a Customer Service Assistant is being filled out on the TeacherMatic platform, with fields for job title, summary, responsibilities, and requirements.

Expands adverts into detailed role profiles, including responsibilities, qualifications and key skills. Helps learners connect classroom learning to real career paths.
Gatsby Benchmark 4: Linking Curriculum Learning to Careers
Ofsted: Evidence of purposeful, career-focused learning.

3. Job Interview Question List

A job interview question form is filled out for the position of Customer Service Assistant, including details on role description, diversity needs, and complexity level.

Generates tailored interview questions instantly.
Ideal for mock interviews and workshops, helping learners practise articulation, confidence and self-awareness.
Gatsby Benchmarks 5 and 6: Encounters with employers and workplace experiences.
Time saved: Up to one hour per mock interview set.

4. Job Interview Task List

A job interview task list form is filled out for a Customer Service Assistant role, detailing job description, diversity, and task settings within the Teachermatic platform.

Creates realistic assessment centre activities such as greeting customers or resolving complaints.
Builds confidence, professionalism and communication.
Gatsby Benchmarks 5 and 6
Works perfectly with the Rubric Generator for assessment and feedback.

5. Scenario Generator

A web interface displays a scenario creation form for TEACHERMATIC, including fields for role selection, scenario name, and result, with various menu options visible in the background.

Produces realistic role-play and discussion prompts.
Encourages teamwork, empathy and decision-making, helping learners handle workplace challenges with confidence.
Gatsby Benchmarks 4, 5 and 6
Ofsted: Supports personal development and resilience.

6. Rubric Generator

Creates clear assessment criteria for tasks, mock interviews and presentations.
Promotes fairness and transparency while aligning with qualification frameworks such as City & Guilds or BTEC.
Ofsted: Quality of Education – clarity and consistency in assessment.
Time saved: Up to two hours per rubric.

7. SMART Target Generator

A user fills out SMART targets for a learner on a TEACHERMATIC platform, specifying behavioral skills and video role-play tasks in an online form.

Turns feedback into practical, measurable goals.
Encourages ownership and reflection, for example: “Practise STAR interview answers once a week for four weeks.”
Gatsby Benchmark 8: Personal Guidance
Ofsted: Promotes continuous improvement and self-reflection.

8. Careers Interview Report and Action Plan Generator

A digital form titled "Careers Interview Report and Action Plan" is displayed on a computer screen, with fields for student details, transcript, and document uploads.

Converts careers meeting transcripts into professional reports and action plans in under a minute.
Saves hours of administration and ensures consistency and accuracy across departments.
Gatsby Benchmark 8: Personal Guidance
Time saved: Two to three hours per learner.

Why This Matters

For many educators, employability can feel like an additional task to fit between lessons, marking and meetings.
As we saw in the Deep Dive, with the right tools, employability becomes part of everyday learning.

TeacherMatic empowers schools and colleges to:

  • Embed employability meaningfully across subjects and tutorials

  • Evidence progression for Ofsted and Gatsby frameworks

  • Save valuable hours by automating repetitive tasks

  • Support inclusion and adapt activities for all learners

This approach builds confidence, professionalism and long-term success.

Key Takeaways

  • Employability is essential, not optional

  • Ofsted and Gatsby set the direction, and TeacherMatic provides the tools

  • Each generator reduces workload while strengthening personal development evidence

  • Embedding employability makes learning relevant, inclusive and inspiring

I’m Gulev Karayel, Director of Digital Innovation at Connect Education Trust.

Since April, my colleagues and I have been exploring how technology can help our teams work more efficiently, effectively and creatively without replacing the human insight that lies at the heart of education.

Our focus has been on understanding what efficiency really looks like in today’s education landscape and identifying where tools like TeacherMatic can make a meaningful difference.

Smiling woman with straight, blonde hair wearing a black blazer and white top, pictured against a plain white background inside a circular frame with a blue border, representing Connect Education Trust.

For our teachers, TeacherMatic has become a valuable partner in planning lessons, generating key learning questions and providing efficient ways to give feedback. Rather than taking over, it helps teachers focus on what matters most, encouraging curiosity and fostering deep learning.

As one teacher shared, “TeacherMatic doesn’t take over what we do, it helps me think more clearly about what matters most for my students.”

The platform also benefits our operational staff.

In HR, for example, TeacherMatic can help draft interview questions quickly, ensuring consistency and quality, while freeing up time for strategic thinking and problem-solving. Across the Trust, staff are using the tool to streamline workflows, reduce repetitive tasks and focus on high-value activities that require human judgment.

At Connect Education Trust, AI is a support, not a replacement. TeacherMatic provides guidance, prompts and frameworks, but critical thinking, professional judgment and human connection remain firmly in our hands. AI gives us structure, and our people bring purpose.

This journey is ongoing.

Our goal isn’t to add more tools, but to use the right tools thoughtfully, reducing workload pressures and creating space for creativity and impact. For us, technology is about enabling our teams to thrive, removing unnecessary barriers and focusing on what truly matters in teaching and leadership.

We are excited to continue exploring new ways TeacherMatic can support our staff, enhancing, not replacing, the human element that makes our Trust exceptional.

From insight to impact

At TeacherMatic, we believe that the thoughtful use of AI can help every educator, department and trust achieve the same balance Connect Education Trust has found with greater efficiency, renewed purpose and more time for what truly matters.

With AI in education, trust and alignment go hand in hand. For AI to make a real impact, it must understand what educators do and what they need to teach.

TeacherMatic integrates 38 detailed curricula from across the UK and worldwide.

A dropdown menu displays country options for curriculum alignment, with "SLOVENIA" highlighted. The interface also includes options for adding curriculum alignment suggestions below.
  • Each curriculum can be aligned to a country and then region where appropriate.
  • TeacherMatic flexibly adapts to the differing structure of curricula.
  • Each curriculum element references a curated set of curriculum specifications that our team manages.
  • With TeacherMatic you will see specific references to the concepts and themes within the chosen curriculum specification. This is missing from many other platforms.

Built on real curricula, not keywords

Most AI tools rely on an LLM’s understanding of curricula. TeacherMatic goes further.

We’ve integrated 38 detailed curricula (and counting) across the UK and internationally, including:

  • National Curriculum and GCSE frameworks.
  • International qualifications, such as the International Baccalaureate (IB).

Each has been carefully mapped into the TeacherMatic ecosystem, meaning every output, from a revision quiz to a full scheme of learning, is grounded in a real, curriculum-based context.

So, instead of vague summaries or ‘one-size-fits-all’ responses, you get precisely aligned teaching materials and support built for your qualification, your level and your learners.

Because curricula are regularly updated, you can trust that you’ll always stay current with the latest standards and updates.

TeacherMatic does curriculum alignment, but differently

Did you know that not all AI tools used by schools are created with the educator in mind? Many rely solely on the model’s general understanding of education frameworks, producing vague or inconsistent results.

“Close enough” is not good enough.

TeacherMatic takes a completely different approach:

  • Precision through context: Rather than depending on the model’s assumptions, TeacherMatic actually passes curriculum specifications as additional context. This ensures that every output is specific, verifiable and aligned to real frameworks.
  • Built for depth and diversity: TeacherMatic currently supports 38 distinct curricula, with more being added regularly. Whether you’re delivering a BTEC Business unit or Key Stage 4 Science, TeacherMatic fits to your curriculum. You choose your framework and TeacherMatic manages the alignment.
  • Flexible structure handling: TeacherMatic intelligently recognises and adapts to different curriculum structures, levels and hierarchies, such as modular FE qualifications, competency-based standards or university learning outcome models.
  • Real references, not generalisations: Instead of producing broad statements like “aligned to curriculum outcomes,” TeacherMatic provides specific references to criteria and standards, so educators feel confident that each plan, activity or assessment they generate is relevant, reliable and robust.

Aligned teaching made effortless with AI

Curriculum alignment can be one of the most time-consuming aspects of lesson planning and quality assurance. With TeacherMatic, this can happen automatically with ease.

Each generator recognises your curriculum’s language, structure and outcomes to deliver instant, compliant resources.

Here’s how it supports educators every day:

  • Lesson Plan Generator: Builds structured, outcome-based lesson plans mapped to your chosen curriculum or qualification.
  • Scheme of Learning Generator: Creates long-term overviews that align with awarding body specifications.
  • Learning Activity Generator: Suggests creative, differentiated tasks directly linked to learning outcomes.
  • MCQ and Worksheet Generators: Produce assessment content calibrated to your curriculum standards and learner levels.

The result? Consistent, high-quality materials that support learners and meet inspection standards, while saving you valuable time.

Take a closer look at the Lesson Plan generator:

A screenshot of the Teachermatic platform displays a lesson plan form featuring curriculum alignment details and a dedicated section on alignment to curriculum specification.

Why it matters

At TeacherMatic, we believe curriculum alignment is about ensuring that teaching, learning and assessment work together seamlessly.

  • For educators, it means confidence that lessons and assessments meet the right standards.
  • For institutions, it ensures consistency and compliance across teams.
  • For learners, it means teaching that’s focused, relevant and built to help them succeed.

AI in Action: Flipped Classroom with TeacherMatic

The flipped classroom is not a new idea, but it’s one that continues to grow in relevance as teachers search for ways to maximise contact time, build learner independence, and make every minute in class count. In our recent Deep Dive Wednesday, we explored how the flipped classroom model, supported by TeacherMatic, can transform teaching and learning.

Watch the Webinar Here

This session walks through the history and principles of the flipped classroom, before showing how TeacherMatic can help teachers bring it to life with practical tools and resources. You’ll see a live demo of how easy it is to create and export flipped learning resources, along with tips on saving time and boosting learner engagement..

What is the Flipped Classroom Model?

At its core, the flipped classroom turns the traditional approach on its head. Instead of delivering content in class and assigning practice at home, teachers provide core content before the lesson. Learners come to class prepared, ready to use that time for collaboration, discussion, and problem-solving. Crucially, it’s not “just homework.” Homework tends to be about practising something already taught. Flipped learning is about preparation, equipping students to make the most of valuable classroom time. In this model, teachers act more as facilitators than lecturers, guiding learners through activities that demand deeper thinking.

A Brief History

The model was popularised in the mid-2000s by Jon Bergmann and Aaron Sams, who began recording their lectures for absent students. Over time, flipped learning grew alongside digital tools, video content, and interactive resources, opening up new opportunities for active learning both in and outside the classroom.

Maximising Classroom Time

The flipped model aligns perfectly with Bloom’s Taxonomy. Lower-order tasks such as remembering and understanding happen at home, while higher-order skills like analysing, evaluating, and creating happen in class. This frees up precious contact time for learners to work together, apply knowledge, and deepen their understanding through real problem-solving.

The Benefits

Teachers and students alike see real value in this approach:

  • Maximised classroom time for activities that matter most.
  • Greater collaboration and engagement, with learners working together in class.
  • Support for differentiation, as students can learn at their own pace before class.
  • Stronger formative assessment, as teachers can use class time to check understanding and address gaps.

Why Use AI in Flipped Learning?

This is where TeacherMatic makes a real difference. One of the biggest challenges for teachers is creating and curating resources to support flipped learning. With over 150 generators, TeacherMatic can instantly create quizzes, worksheets, and resources that are tailored to your learners’ needs. Better still, you can export these straight into Microsoft Forms, Google Forms, Kahoot, or your LMS. That means less time spent preparing and more time focused on teaching.

Bringing It All Together

In our live demo, we showed how quickly teachers can create a flipped learning resource using TeacherMatic. The result? Tools that are simple to set up, engaging for learners, and adaptable across subjects.

Final Thoughts

Flipped learning is all about making the most of your time with students. With TeacherMatic, teachers can save hours of preparation while giving learners richer, more interactive classroom experiences.

Introduction: AI that actually saves teachers time

Teachers everywhere are asking the same question: how can we keep up with growing demands without burning out. Lesson planning, marking, assessments and endless admin often spill into evenings and weekends, leaving little time for rest or creativity.

AI is often positioned as the solution, but for many educators it feels like just another hurdle. Tools like ChatGPT or Copilot present a blank screen, requiring complex “prompt engineering” to get usable results. For busy teachers, that is not practical.

This is where TeacherMatic comes in. Built by educators for educators, TeacherMatic removes the barriers that make AI intimidating and replaces them with simple, secure, role-specific tools. It is already helping universities, colleges and schools save hours each week, improve teaching and learning and support staff wellbeing.

The recent webinar “Why Universities, Colleges and Schools are Choosing TeacherMatic” showcased exactly how. And the good news is, you can now watch the on-demand recording to see the demonstrations and hear directly from the founders.

From prototype to sector impact

TeacherMatic’s journey began just a few years ago.

  • It started with 18 AI generators designed for teachers.
  • Early prototypes were tested with 50 teachers, improved through feedback, then rolled out to 350 educators for further refinement.
  • Every new tool and feature since has been developed through co-design with educators, ensuring the platform meets real needs.

Fast forward to today.

  • TeacherMatic offers 150+ generators covering teaching, leadership, admin, quality and more.
  • It is used by 300+ organisations and 60,000+ educators worldwide.
  • Adoption spans schools, colleges and universities, including 50+ colleges in North Carolina.

This growth is driven by one principle. Listen to educators, build what they need and continuously improve.

Why institutions choose TeacherMatic

TeacherMatic is being adopted across the sector because it solves core problems educators face every day. Here’s why.

1. Ease of use

  • No prompt engineering.
  • Generators mapped to real teaching tasks like schemes of work, lesson plans and feedback.
  • Designed for staff at all levels of digital confidence.

2. Security and compliance

  • Fully GDPR compliant.
  • Content filtering to prevent inappropriate outputs.
  • No data is used to train external AI models.

3. Affordability

  • Compared to £20+ per month for generic AI tools, TeacherMatic offers sector-leading value.

4. Breadth of roles

TeacherMatic is not just for teachers. Over half of its 150+ generators support other roles, including:

  • Senior leaders.
  • Quality managers.
  • HR teams.
  • Marketing and communications staff.
  • Careers and guidance.
  • Administrative staff.

This whole-organisation approach is key. TeacherMatic delivers impact across multiple functions, not just in the classroom.

Meet the team behind TeacherMatic

TeacherMatic is not the product of a tech start-up looking to break into education. It was created by a team of educators with decades of experience.

  • Peter Kilcoyne, Managing Director. A career spanning since 1986 in further and higher education, supporting digital innovation.
  • Esam Baboukhan, Marketing Director. Over 20 years in the classroom as lecturer, advanced practitioner and e-learning manager.

Both know the day-to-day reality of teaching. They have spent years supporting colleagues with learning technologies, and they saw first-hand the opportunity AI could offer. But they also recognised the risks: complexity, inconsistency and data security.

Their vision was simple. Create a platform that saves teachers time, supports wellbeing and ensures safe, compliant use of AI. TeacherMatic is the result.

Leading Change with Confidence: The TeacherMatic Rollout Strategy Guide

Introducing new technology is not just about the tool. It is about how you introduce it, how you support staff, and how you sustain momentum. Many leaders see promising initiatives stall because uptake is inconsistent or enthusiasm fades.

The TeacherMatic Rollout Strategy Guide exists to change that. It is a free, practical resource for digital leaders, managers, and champions who want a structured and sustainable approach to adoption at institutional level.

Watch the Webinar Here

Watch our webinar segment on the TeacherMatic Rollout Strategy Guide. See how the ADKAR framework turns adoption into a clear plan, hear practical ideas for champions, CPD time, weekly tips and drop-in support, and learn how to reach the 16–18% tipping point. Sign up on the strategy page to access the full guide.

Why a strategy matters

Across the sector we see different approaches to AI. Some wait and see, some ban, some let staff fend for themselves, and some choose an institution-wide approach. TeacherMatic is designed for that institution-wide model. It is a safe, GDPR-compliant platform with UK-based servers, and we never use your data to train large language models. With the Rollout Guide, you are not just handing staff a tool. You are giving them a supported framework.

A clear framework: ADKAR

The guide is built around ADKAR:

  • Awareness: communicate why change is needed and what TeacherMatic solves.
  • Desire: answer “what is in it for me?”, showing time saving, wellbeing and classroom impact.
  • Knowledge: provide structured training and resources so staff know how to use the platform.
  • Ability: help staff apply what they know in real lessons, assessments and workflows.
  • Reinforcement: keep up the reminders, integrate with quality processes, and use reward and recognition to sustain momentum.

TeacherMatic is the most jaw-dropping software I’ve seen in a long, long time. Beautifully clean interface and intuitive to use. The ability to generate alternative classroom activities, or variations of the same activity, for students with different learning support needs or disabilities, is potentially a gamechanger and it’s all done in a matter of seconds.

John Rafferty | Vice and Deputy Principal at Glasgow Clyde College

Practical ideas that work

You will find ready-to-use strategies such as leadership launch messages and events, identifying early champions, sharing weekly tips, setting up drop-in support and short hands-on workshops, adding TeacherMatic to new staff onboarding, and building a community of practice so colleagues share what works.

Plan protected CPD time so staff can complete the Getting Started course and practise with the generators. Pair that with simple pilots and peer mentoring so knowledge becomes classroom ability.

Reach the tipping point

You do not need everyone to change at once. Focus first on innovators and early adopters. Once you reach around 16 to 18 percent adoption, momentum accelerates and wider uptake becomes much easier.

The benefits for institutions

A strategic rollout delivers:

  • Consistent use across teams rather than pockets of activity

  • Time saving at scale, giving teachers several hours back each week

  • Improved wellbeing and retention, as staff feel supported and confident

  • Better student outcomes, driven by more engaging and inclusive resources

TeacherMatic takes away much of the worry and the considerable time needed by teachers to decide how and what to teach. It provides a starting point, a framework and support for teachers in all subjects, and encourages teachers to put their energies into being even more creative with their classes. I thoroughly recommend it.”Kenneth O’Connell, lecturer, consultant and former Ofsted inspector

Correos Corp. Launches TeacherMatic, a Generative AI Tool Specialising in Education

More than 150 generators help organisations improve the efficiency and productivity of educational operations

Japan, August 2025 – Correos Corp., headquartered in Nakano-ku, Tokyo and led by company president Taro Momose, is a provider of IT solutions for corporate customers. From July 25, 2025, Correos began selling TeacherMatic, an AI toolkit designed for educators provided by Avallain AG, headquartered in St. Gallen, Switzerland and led by its co-founders Ursula Suter and Ignatz Heinz. TeacherMatic is a generative AI tool with more than 150 generators suitable for a wide range of educational scenarios. As a sales partner of TeacherMatic in Japan, Correos will support educational institutions and companies in improving the efficiency and productivity of their educational operations.

Overview and Features of TeacherMatic

Generative AI developed for the education sector streamlines operations, allowing more time to be spent on teaching and ensuring well-being

TeacherMatic is a generative AI toolset developed specifically for education, with over 150 generators to support not only the creation of lesson plans, preparation and evaluation criteria, but also a wide range of educational scenarios and school affairs. Highly accurate teaching resources can be safely obtained and utilised without having to write complex prompts from scratch.

Designed with the input of educators, TeacherMatic has been used by more than 40,000 users at more than 350 institutions worldwide and, even during the pilot phase, has achieved a reduction of 3.8 hours of work per person per week. It is an edtech solution that not only reduces the workload of educators and promotes operational efficiency, but also allows them to spend more time on ‘real education,’ such as interacting with each learner and providing detailed learning support.

A laptop screen displays the Teachermatic platform interface with two pop-up windows, alongside the Teachermatic and Avallain Group logos, and a Correos notification visible in the corner.

More Than 150 Generators Designed for Education Help Streamline and Increase the Productivity of Any Educational Operation

TeacherMatic supports all aspects of educational work, including lesson planning
and preparation, teaching materials, test questions, evaluation criteria, feedback and other educational resources, as well as school work such as preparation for school events and PR activities. It streamlines the educational work of the entire organisation.

Quickly Obtain the Right Product for the Right Purpose by Simply Entering Information in the Form Provided for Each Generator
TeacherMatic’s generators have input forms for setting items that are unique to education, such as class title, learning theme, field of study and target learner conditions, so there is no need to write complex prompts from scratch. By simply selecting a generator that suits your purpose or situation and inputting information, you can easily obtain highly accurate generated results, which can then be exported and utilised in Word, Excel, PDF, or any other format you need. Even in cases where general-purpose generation AI fails to produce the desired results, TeacherMatic can produce effective outcomes.

Strong Security Protects Highly Confidential Data, Making the Convenience of AI Generation Safe and Secure

TeacherMatic, based on Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI, which local governments, the financial industry and large corporations use, complies with strict guidelines such as the EU’s Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI*. Input data is not used to train generative AI, making it safe for use in organisational operations. In addition, unique filtering and checking functions block sensitive information, copyrighted content and discriminatory expressions from being included in the input content and generated results, thus maintaining appropriate use of generative AI throughout the organisation.

A computer screen displays a lesson plan form in Japanese, with fields for topic, subject, duration, grade level, options, and result—styled similarly to Correos digital forms.

Future Initiatives: Supporting the Efficiency of Educational Operations of all Types of Organisations, Including Higher Education Institutions, K12 and Corporations

Correos will propose TeacherMatic to educational institutions, companies, organisations and other organisations that operate educational businesses, helping to solve issues such as reducing the workload of teachers and instructors, ensuring well-being and improving the productivity of the entire organisation. By streamlining the various tasks associated with education through TeacherMatic, we will contribute to the realisation of an environment in which educators can focus on their primary job of teaching.

New-Term Essentials: Time-saving AI-powered tools

Here’s what’s in your AI survival kit for September:

(1) Smarter, tailored lesson planning

A computer screen displays a lesson plan from the Teacher’s AI Survival Kit, featuring a recap and assessment section, suggestions for simplification, and options to close or regenerate the plan at the bottom.

Back to school and back to lesson planning with the Lesson Plan Enhanced Generator enables you to create detailed session outlines fast. (Not just a generic plan.)

Here’s what you can do:

  • Align to specific pedagogical models like Bloom’s Taxonomy, SOLO or experiential learning.
  • Embed key skills such as literacy, numeracy, digital literacy or employability.
  • Adapt for diverse learners, including those with SEND, EAL or specific learning difficulties.
  • Map directly to your curriculum, including awarding body requirements and qualification frameworks.
  • Focus on learning outcomes, helping you plan lessons that build knowledge and develop skills, not just fill time.

How you can use it:

  • Teaching GCSE English Language to a mixed-ability Year 11 class? Prompt the generator to scaffold activities for both higher-order analysis and basic comprehension, then refine it for differentiation.
  • Running a BTEC Business session on marketing? Ask the tool to align the outcomes with specific unit criteria and include practical tasks, like campaign analysis or pitch creation.
  • Need a SEN-friendly Art and Design lesson? Request multi-sensory activities and reduced cognitive load built into the structure.
  • Delivering a first-year university seminar in Sociology? Plan a session that blends introductory theory with interactive case study analysis, mapped to module learning outcomes and designed to develop both critical thinking and academic writing skills.

Tip: Save your favourite lesson formats to use across multiple topics for streamlining schemes of work.

Designed for: Curriculum teams, secondary teachers, and FE and HE tutors looking to save time and deliver high-quality, learner-centred sessions.

(2) Ready-to-go learning activities

A computer screen displays a lesson plan for "Learning Activities: Adaptation in the Wild," featuring a Survival Simulation Game, an Adaptation Poster Project, and ideas from the Teacher’s AI Survival Kit.

Need fresh ideas for interactive or practical tasks? The Learning Activities Enhanced Generator is your go-to for creating engaging, varied, and purposeful learner tasks in seconds.

With just a few prompts, you can:

  • Align activities with your subject goals, assessment criteria or curriculum standards.
  • Target specific learner types (e.g. EAL, SEN).
  • Suggest individual, paired or group tasks.
  • Cater to in-person or remote learning formats.
  • Create differentiated tasks to support mixed-ability classes.
  • Offer practical, academic or creative tasks depending on your needs.

How you can use it:

  • Teaching A-level Psychology? Ask for group activities that explore ethical dilemmas in psychological research. You’ll get suggestions like structured debates, role-plays or jigsaw-style peer learning—all mapped to AO1/AO3-style objectives.
  • Delivering a Functional Skills Maths lesson? Generate hands-on, real-world problems involving budgeting, measurement or data handling. Activities could include shopping challenges, cooking conversions or analysing class-generated survey data.
  • Need an inclusive, low-barrier activity for an SEN or mixed-ability group? Request scaffolded, sensory or visual activities. Think: sequencing tasks using visual cards, matching exercises or short, confidence-boosting starters to build engagement.
  • Facilitating an HE module in Environmental Science? Design collaborative activities, such as simulated policy negotiations, campus sustainability audits or group presentations analysing recent research that are aligned to assessment rubrics and graduate skill frameworks.

Tips:

  • Batch plan: Generate several activity ideas at once for a half-term’s worth of content.
  • Stretch and challenge: Prompt for ‘extension’ tasks to push high achievers.
  • Blend your formats: Ask the generator to recommend both digital and paper-based activities, especially useful for hybrid delivery models.
  • Theme your weeks: For example, “Discussion Monday,” “Practical Wednesday” or “Assessment Friday.” Use the tool to support each day’s focus.

Designed for: Adding variety to lessons, boosting learner engagement, and reducing last-minute planning stress for secondary, FE and HE teachers. Great for kick-starting the term with a variety of activities, as well as mapping out weekly schedules until half-term break.

(3) Customisable learner reports

A computer screen displays the Teacher’s AI Survival Kit Learner Report Generator tool with sections for student strengths and areas for improvement. Buttons for closing and regenerating the report are visible at the bottom.

Would you agree that report writing is one of the most time-consuming yet necessary administrative tasks for educators? It doesn’t have to be with the Learner Report Generator.

With this tool, you can take the strengths and areas for improvement you provide and build clear, constructive, and readable summaries that are suitable for termly reviews, parent communications, tutorial sessions, or learner progress meetings.

What it can do:

  • Draft full reports based on just a few bullet-point inputs.
  • Create a balanced, professional tone across all learner reports.
  • Include personalised targets and development strategies.
  • Save time without sacrificing individualised feedback.
  • Export in multiple formats for easy sharing or printing.

How you can use it:

  • For new-term tutorials: After your first few lessons or diagnostics, input key learner behaviours, strengths, or focus areas. Instantly generate reports that help guide 1:1 tutorials, track early interventions, or support SEND planning.
  • For pastoral check-ins: Use for student support conversations—especially useful for EAL or vulnerable learners. For example: “Builds strong peer relationships but requires support to remain focused during independent work.”
  • For subject-specific feedback: Teaching English? Focus on writing and analysis. Teaching Science? Highlight lab work, conceptual understanding, and accuracy. You can tailor reports to subject context with ease.
  • For parental communication: Especially helpful for SEND teams or Heads of Year. Turn quick notes into well-structured reports ready for parent evenings or review meetings.
  • For personal tutor meetings at the start of term: Quickly summarise initial impressions with new undergraduates or postgraduates, including strengths in early engagement, areas where additional academic skills support is needed and clear next steps to help them settle in–ideal for tracking progress in their personal development records.

Here are some example outputs using the Learner Report Generator:

Strengths:

  • [Learner Name] demonstrates excellent creative writing skills, crafting engaging stories with rich detail
  • [Learner Name] builds positive relationships with peers and contributes to a supportive learning environment

Areas for improvement:

  • Time management and punctuality
  • Refining communication to express ideas clearly
  • Increasing active participation in lessons

Tips:

  • Batch generate: Input several learners in one session to streamline mid-term reports.
  • Use as a baseline: Run initial reports in September, then refine again later in the term to track progress.
  • Pair with data: Use this tool alongside your assessment records or ILPs to generate data-informed commentary.
  • Set targets together: Generate a report, then edit it live with your student to co-create achievable goals.

Designed for: Personal tutors, lecturers, and secondary teaching staff preparing reports or setting targets for learners at the start of term.

(4) Feedback that’s fast, fair and formative

A computer screen displays a feedback generator tool from the Teacher’s AI Survival Kit, showing detailed comments on a student essay about the human heart, organized into sections like Introduction and Structure of the Heart.

The new term brings new learners, new assignments and the start of the marking season. Whether you’re teaching GCSEs, A-levels, BTECs or Functional Skills, the Feedback Generator helps you get on top of your marking load early and stay there. Designed to save time without sacrificing quality, this tool gives you fast, structured feedback that’s clear, personalised and aligned to your curriculum and learner level.

What it can do:

  • Generate tailored feedback based on your assignment brief and student submissions
  • Provide formative or summative feedback aligned to UK Levels 1–4 or give informal learner-friendly advice
  • Suggest draft grades based on TeacherMatic’s rubrics or your own custom criteria
  • Create feedback in your preferred tone: formal for reports or informal for coaching-style guidance
  • Save hours during peak marking periods with batch-ready functionality

How you can use it:

  • KS4 GCSE assessments: Upload a student’s English or Science response and generate Level 2 formative feedback that scaffolds improvement — ready to refine and share during tutorials or parent updates.
  • BTEC and vocational coursework: Add your own assignment-specific rubric and generate summative feedback aligned to pass, merit or distinction criteria.
  • SEND and EAL learners: Prompt the generator to provide strengths-based feedback that’s clear, encouraging and adapted to learner needs.
  • First-year HE diagnostic assignments: Generate constructive formative feedback from essays and lab reports that highlights academic writing strengths and identifies early skill gaps to ensure students receive targeted support early, helping them build confidence and adjust to university-level expectations.

Tips:

  • Save your most-used rubrics or assignment briefs to speed up repeat use across different cohorts or subjects.
  • Combine with the Learner Report Generator for richer insights across progress reviews and pastoral notes.
  • Use the “No Grade” option when you want feedback without scores that’s ideal for scaffolding learning before a final assessment.

Designed for: School teachers, tutors and vocational educators who need efficient, learner-centred marking support, especially during the high-pressure September ramp-up.

(5) Presentations in minutes, not hours

A computer screen displays a PowerPoint slide titled "Welcome to Term 1," with a message welcoming students, listing goals for the new school year, and introducing the Teacher’s AI Survival Kit. An image of a plasma globe is on the left.

From syllabus introductions to revision summaries, the start of term often calls for a wave of fresh presentations.

The PowerPoint Presentation Generator is a popular TeacherMatic tool included in the Pro Plan, helping you produce fully-drafted slide decks in minutes, so you can focus on delivering engaging content rather than building slides from scratch.

What it can do:

  • Create draft presentations in PPTX format on any topic you choose.
  • Add supporting text for each slide, ready for you to refine.
  • Suggest and insert relevant royalty-free images to enhance engagement.
  • Let you customise the number of slides, complexity level, colour schemes, and fonts.
  • Generate ready-to-edit decks for in-person or online delivery.

How you can use it:

  • Secondary science teachers: Need a KS4 Biology revision deck on ecosystems? Generate a 12-slide presentation including diagrams of food chains, energy flow and human impact on biodiversity.
  • FE vocational tutors: Teaching a Level 3 Health and Social Care module? Create a presentation outlining safeguarding principles, complete with case-study prompts and scenario images.
  • HE lecturers: Introducing a new first-year module in September? Draft an overview deck with key themes, reading lists, and assessment breakdowns to use in your welcome lecture.

Tips:

  • Add keywords or subtopics to the “Topics” box to improve slide relevance and image selection.
  • Treat the generated deck as your starting point to personalise examples, update statistics and adjust visuals for maximum impact.
  • For larger classes, add interactive slides (e.g., poll questions, discussion prompts) before delivery.

Designed for: Teachers, lecturers and trainers who need ready-made presentations for teaching, assessment prep or professional development sessions.

“[TeacherMatic] significantly improved the quality of one-to-one tutorials by automating the creation of smart targets. This means I can focus more on supporting my students directly, enhancing engagement and learning.”

– Jasmin Arey, Psychology Lecturer

“Writes lesson objectives, generates activity ideas, and so much more. This is a game changer for the overburdened teacher.”
